CityCentre, a popular mixed-use development located along the Katy Freeway in Houston, will soon undergo a significant expansion. In addition to a new 15-story structure at CityCentre Five, located at 825 Town & Country Way, expansion plans include two new office towers to the north. Each 16-story tower will include nine parking levels in addition to a fourth-floor rooftop terrace.
The expansion is a joint venture between Houston-based Midway Cos. and the Chicago firm LaSalle Investment Management. They will collaborate to develop the 6.41-acre expansion, which will also comprise 740,000 square feet of office space. Additionally, the firms will construct a 13-story luxury high-rise encompassing 270 residential units. The building’s 22,400-square-foot ground floor will house retail space and a restaurant.
The project will expand CityCentre by 50 percent, with most of the development attributed to Houston’s expanding oil industry. A great deal of construction for the sector will take place near Katy Freeway and The Woodlands area, amounting to a collective 10 million square feet of planned office space.
