Enterprise Products Partners L.P., a leading pipeline company based in Houston, Texas, has played a key role in the state’s burgeoning energy sector. With a total natural gas liquid fractionation capacity of more than 1 million barrels per day, the firm currently maintains nine natural gas liquid fractionators at its Mont Belvieu complex alone. It has also launched development at the Houston Ship Channel for the largest ethane export facility in the world.
Additionally, Enterprise Products Partners recently completed the first portion of the Aegis pipeline, a 60-mile segment connecting Beaumont and Mont Belvieu. Enterprise Products Partners plans to complete its second pipeline segment, from Beaumont, Texas, to Lake Charles, Louisiana, during the third quarter of 2015. It expects to complete the entire Aegis pipeline system by 2016, with its final segment connecting Lake Charles and the Mississippi River.
When completed, the 20-inch-diameter ethane pipeline system will stretch 270 miles, facilitating a 500-mile pipeline network between Louisiana and Corpus Christi, Texas. Operating at a capacity of 425 barrels per day, the Aegis pipeline system will serve as a primary source of ethane for petrochemical facilities across the Gulf Coast region for years to come.
